Brief Description
Sarajevo is the capital and largest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is surrounded by the Dinaric Alps and beside the Miljacka River. It is known for a rich history of religious and cultural diversity and is often called the “Jerusalem of Europe”. It hosted the 1984 Winter Olympics. The city was under siege from 1992 – 1996 during the Bosnian War for independence.
